Ingredients

Oat Crumble Topping

  • ⅔ cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup old-fashioned oats
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cold butter cubed

Triple Berry Filling

  • 3 to 4 cups mixed berries fresh or frozen
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly butter the bottom and sides of a 9 x 13-inch casserole or ceramic baking dish.
  • Prepare the oat crumble topping by combining the flour, oats, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl. Whisk until evenly mixed and there are no lumps.
  • Add the cold cubed butter. Using your fingertips, rub the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture forms large, coarse crumbs.
  • Place the mixed berries directly into the prepared baking dish. Add the cornstarch, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt, then gently toss until the berries are evenly coated.
  • Spread the crumble mixture evenly over the berry filling, covering the fruit from edge to edge.
  • Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and crisp and the berry filling is bubbling around the edges.
  • Let the Triple Berry Crumble rest for several minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with vanilla ice cream or cold whipped cream.

Notes

For a sweeter crumble, serve it with vanilla ice cream. For a lighter option, add a spoonful of cold whipped cream or plain Greek yogurt.
If you prefer a more rustic filling, leave smaller berries whole and only roughly chop larger strawberries. You can also experiment with different berry combinations depending on the season.
For a slightly more textured topping, replace a small portion of the flour with additional oats. Keep the overall topping mixture balanced so it still holds together nicely as it bakes.
