Ingredients

  • 8 slices thick-cut bread brioche, challah, or your choice
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • Butter or oil for cooking

Optional Toppings:

  • Maple syrup
  • Powdered sugar
  • Whipped cream
  • Strawberry sauce or compote

Instructions

  • In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, sugar, and salt until smooth and fully combined.
  • If making stuffed Strawberry French Toast, spread cream cheese or mascarpone on one bread slice and layer sliced strawberries before topping with another slice.
  • Dip each bread slice into the custard mixture for 10–15 seconds per side, making sure both sides are coated evenly.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil.
  • Place soaked bread onto the hot skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
  • Remove from heat and top with fresh sliced strawberries.
  • Serve warm with maple syrup, powdered sugar, whipped cream, or strawberry compote.

Notes

  • For extra sweetness, drizzle homemade strawberry syrup over the top.
  • Serve with scrambled eggs or turkey sausage for a complete brunch.
  • You can make the custard mixture ahead of time and refrigerate overnight.
