  • 4 cloves fresh garlic minced
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Season the chicken with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Place the seasoned chicken in the slow cooker.
  • Add the minced garlic, chicken broth, and heavy cream. Stir gently to combine.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours, or until the chicken reaches a safe internal temperature and is tender.
  • Shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker using two forks.
  • Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce becomes creamy. This Slow Cooked Garlic Parmesan Chicken is best served warm.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute part of the heavy cream with evaporated milk, although the sauce will be less rich. You can also use chicken thighs instead of breasts for a more tender result.
Serve this creamy chicken with spaghetti, fettuccine, rice, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, or crusty bread.
