Oven Fried Feta Rolls with Chili Honey

Crispy oven fried feta rolls made with phyllo dough

Ingredients
  

  • 8 ounces feta cheese crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped dill
  • 1 clove garlic grated
  • 16 –20 sheets frozen phyllo dough thawed
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil plus more for brushing
  • 1 tablespoon salted butter
  • 1 –2 teaspoons chili flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seed
  • 1/3 cup honey

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix feta cheese, dill, and garlic until combined.
  • Place one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and fold in half crosswise. Brush lightly with olive oil.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of filling to one end. Roll tightly, folding in the sides to seal (burrito style).
  • Place seam-side down on the baking sheet. Repeat to form 12–16 rolls.
  • Brush tops with olive oil and bake for 20 minutes until golden and crisp.
  • In a skillet, melt butter with olive oil, chili flakes, and cumin seeds. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Remove from heat and stir in honey.
  • Serve the oven fried feta rolls warm with chili honey for dipping or drizzling.

Notes

 

  • Serve with yogurt dip or fresh salad for a complete dish
  • Can be made ahead and baked before serving
  • Try adding spinach or herbs for extra filling
