One Pan Honey Garlic Chicken Broccoli Rice

A one pan chicken and rice recipe with broccoli and honey garlic sauce.

Ingredients
  

Marinade:

  • lbs chicken breasts cubed
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil or olive oil
  • 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

One Pan:

  • 1 onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large head broccoli cut into florets
  • 1 cup uncooked basmati rice
  • cups low sodium chicken broth or water
  • ½ tsp Italian dried herb blend

Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Sriracha sauce
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger minced
  • 2 –3 tbsp honey

Optional Toppings:

  • Diced scallions
  • Toasted sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • Marinate the Chicken
  • Combine chicken with sesame oil, soy sauce, Sriracha, and garlic powder. Marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  • Cook the Chicken
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer and cook for 3–4 minutes per side until lightly browned.
  • Sauté Aromatics
  • Push chicken aside and add onion to the center. Cook for 2 minutes, then stir in garlic for 30 seconds.
  • Add Rice and Broccoli
  • Add broccoli, rice, and chicken broth. Stir everything together and bring to a boil.
  • Simmer
  • Cover and reduce heat. Cook for about 20 minutes until rice is tender. Add more liquid if needed.
  • Prepare the Sauce
  • Whisk together all honey garlic sauce ingredients.
  • Finish the Dish
  • Pour sauce over the cooked dish and mix well. Garnish as desired.

Notes

  • Swap chicken breast with chicken thighs for extra juiciness
