Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound lean ground beef 90% lean
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups hot cooked white rice or brown rice
  • Sliced green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the ground beef and minced garlic.
  • Cook, breaking the beef into crumbles, until fully browned and no longer pink.
  • Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, ground ginger, red pepper flakes, and black pepper.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked beef.
  • Stir well and simmer for 1–2 minutes until the sauce coats the meat evenly.
  • Serve the Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls over hot cooked rice.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with steamed vegetables, kimchi, or a fresh cucumber salad.
  • Add a fried egg on top for a restaurant-style presentation.
  • Brown rice adds extra fiber and a hearty texture.
