Ingredients

For the Turkey

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 3 –4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil canola or avocado

For the Sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Optional red pepper flakes

For Garnishing

  • 2 stalks green onions sliced

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the neutral oil until shimmering.
  • Add the ground turkey and break it apart using a spatula. Cook for 6–7 minutes until browned and fully cooked.
  • Reduce the heat to medium. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until smooth.
  • Pour the sauce over the turkey and stir well to coat evenly. Simmer the Honey Garlic Ground Turkey Recipe for 3–5 minutes until the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze.
  • Stir in most of the sliced green onions, reserving some for garnish.
  • Serve over steamed rice, noodles, or lettuce cups and top with the remaining green onions.

Notes

  • Ground chicken or lean beef can replace turkey.
  • Maple syrup can substitute honey for a deeper sweetness.
  • Tamari works well for a gluten-free version.
  • Add toasted sesame seeds for extra texture and flavor.
