Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey 93% lean
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon granulated garlic
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 1 15-ounce can black beans, drained and rinsed

Optional Toppings

  • Shredded cheese
  • Salsa
  • Avocado or guacamole
  • Sour cream
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Lime wedges
  • Chopped cilantro

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the ground turkey and cook while breaking it apart with a spoon.
  • Once the turkey is halfway browned, stir in salt, pepper, cumin, paprika, granulated garlic, chili powder, onion powder, and oregano.
  • Continue cooking until the turkey is fully cooked through. Add a splash of water if needed to evenly coat the meat with seasoning.
  • In a small saucepan over low heat, warm the black beans and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  • Assemble your Ground Turkey Taco Bowls by adding cooked rice to each bowl.
  • Top with seasoned turkey, black beans, and your favorite toppings like cheese, salsa, avocado, and cilantro.
  • Serve immediately with lime wedges if desired.

Notes

  • White rice can be substituted with cilantro lime rice or quinoa.
  • Greek yogurt works well instead of sour cream.
  • Store toppings separately if meal prepping.
  • Add tortilla chips for extra crunch.
