Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt or more to taste
  • 1 ¼ cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  • Gather all ingredients and measure everything before starting.
  • In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  • Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Add the milk, melted butter, and egg.
  • Whisk until the pancake batter becomes smooth and lump-free. Do not overmix.
  • Heat a lightly greased griddle or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Pour about ¼ cup batter onto the hot surface for each pancake.
  • Cook until bubbles appear on the surface and the edges look dry, about 2–3 minutes.
  • Flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
  • Repeat with the remaining batter and serve warm.

Notes

  • Serve with maple syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, or honey.
  • You can substitute milk with almond milk or oat milk if preferred.
  • Melted butter can be replaced with neutral oil for a dairy-free option.
