Gather all ingredients and measure everything before starting.
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Add the milk, melted butter, and egg.
Whisk until the pancake batter becomes smooth and lump-free. Do not overmix.
Heat a lightly greased griddle or skillet over medium-high heat.
Pour about ¼ cup batter onto the hot surface for each pancake.
Cook until bubbles appear on the surface and the edges look dry, about 2–3 minutes.
Flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
Repeat with the remaining batter and serve warm.
