Ingredients
  

Crust

  • 1 cup warm water 105°F–115°F
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

Sauce

  • ¾ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon dill weed
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Toppings

  • 25 –30 dill pickle slices
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • Fresh dill chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Mix olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic, and salt in a separate bowl.
  • Add half of the oil mixture to the yeast mixture.
  • Stir in flour until a dough forms.
  • Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  • While rising, prepare the sauce by mixing all sauce ingredients until smooth.
  • Preheat oven to 450°F.
  • Pour remaining oil mixture into a cast-iron skillet and coat evenly.
  • Press dough into the skillet and create dimples with your fingers.
  • Spread sauce, layer dill pickle slices, and top with mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake for 22–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh dill and serve warm.

Notes

  • Serve with extra garlic sauce for dipping
  • Great as a side dish or party appetizer
  • Can be made in a baking pan if no cast-iron skillet is available
