- 8 oz spaghetti or fettuccine
- 1 cup ripe tomatoes diced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 cloves fresh garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Optional: grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn it.
Stir in the diced tomatoes, salt, and black pepper. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes so the tomatoes soften and release their juices.
Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream. Stir gently until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss well so the creamy tomato garlic pasta sauce coats every strand evenly.
Remove from heat and sprinkle the chopped fresh basil on top.
Serve warm with optional grated Parmesan cheese.
You can add grilled chicken, shrimp, or sautéed mushrooms for extra protein and flavor.
For a lighter sauce, substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream.
A sprinkle of red pepper flakes can add a gentle heat that pairs nicely with the creamy tomato sauce.
