- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 3 cups chicken broth or more as needed
- ½ cup cream
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt to taste
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 20-oz package cheese tortellini, uncooked
- ⅓ cup grated parmesan cheese or more to taste
- 1 tablespoon cream cheese
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Remove from heat and whisk in flour until smooth.
Return skillet to medium-low heat. Slowly whisk in chicken broth until smooth. Add cream, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Add uncooked tortellini to the skillet. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until tortellini is nearly tender. Add more broth if needed.
Remove lid and stir in parmesan cheese and cream cheese until fully melted and smooth. Adjust seasoning and consistency as desired.
