Ingredients
  

  • 1 8-ounce loaf unsliced Italian bread
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 2 medium scallions thinly sliced
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 ounces grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Slice the Italian bread horizontally, then cut into 4 pieces. Place cut-side up on the baking sheet.
  • In a bowl, mix butter, scallions (reserve some for garnish), garlic, mayonnaise, garlic powder, black pepper, sugar, and salt into a smooth paste.
  • Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the bread.
  • Mix mozzarella and Parmesan, then sprinkle evenly on top.
  • Bake the Cheesy Garlic Bread for about 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.
  • Garnish with reserved scallions and serve warm.

Notes

You can add chili flakes for a spicy kick or herbs like parsley for freshness. Serve alongside pasta dishes or soups for a complete meal.
