Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon cooking oil
  • 2 large chicken breasts thinly sliced
  • ½ cup Frank's RedHot sauce or another Louisiana-style hot sauce
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 kg frozen French fries
  • 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • Ranch dressing for serving (optional)
  • Sliced green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven and bake the French fries according to the package instructions until crispy and golden.
  • While the fries bake, heat the cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced chicken breasts and cook for about 4 minutes, turning occasionally, until fully cooked.
  • Stir in the butter, hot sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook for another 2–3 minutes until the butter melts and the sauce coats every piece of chicken.
  • Remove the fries from the oven and spread half of the shredded Monterey Jack cheese evenly over them.
  • Spoon the buffalo chicken and all of the sauce over the fries.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top.
  • Return the pan to the oven and bake for 5–8 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and lightly browned.
  • Remove from the oven and let the Buffalo Chicken Fries rest for about two minutes before serving.
  • Drizzle with ranch dressing or serve it on the side. Garnish with sliced green onions and enjoy immediately while everything is hot and crispy.

Notes

These Buffalo Chicken Fries are delicious served fresh from the oven with extra ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side for dipping. The creamy dressing perfectly balances the spicy buffalo sauce.
For an even heartier meal, top the fries with diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, avocado, or crispy fried onions. These toppings add freshness, crunch, and even more flavor.
If you're entertaining guests, serve the fries on a large sheet pan or platter so everyone can dig in. This presentation works especially well for game day parties and casual gatherings.
To make the recipe even spicier, add a few dashes of extra hot sauce or sprinkle crushed red pepper flakes over the finished dish before serving.
Fresh herbs such as chopped parsley or cilantro can brighten the rich flavors and provide a colorful garnish alongside the sliced green onions.
