Ingredients

  • 500 g new or waxy potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt

Instructions

  • Wash the potatoes thoroughly and leave the skins on.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Cook the potatoes for 12–15 minutes, or until just fork-tender.
  • Drain and allow them to cool for a few minutes.
  • Place the potatoes on a tray or cutting board.
  • Using the bottom of a sturdy glass, gently smash each potato until about ½-inch thick.
  • Drizzle with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle evenly with smoked paprika and flaky sea salt.
  • Carefully flip each potato to coat both sides with the seasoning and oil.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (356°F) according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Arrange the Air Fryer Smashed Potatoes in a single layer inside the basket.
  • Air fry for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking, until golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Yukon Gold, baby potatoes, or red potatoes work especially well.
  • Serve alongside grilled chicken, steak, burgers, roasted vegetables, or fish.
  • Add shredded cheddar or Parmesan during the last few minutes for a cheesy variation.
  • For extra crispy potatoes, lightly spray with additional olive oil before air frying.
