Ingredients

  • 4 large pita pockets whole wheat or regular white
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar or coconut sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Cut each pita pocket into 8 triangles by halving it, then cutting each half into quarters. Separate the layers if possible for extra crispy chips.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the cinnamon, sugar, and salt.
  • Brush each pita triangle lightly with melted butter.
  • Toss the buttered pita pieces in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3 minutes.
  • Arrange the Air Fryer Cinnamon Pita Chips in a single layer inside the basket without overlapping.
  • Air fry for 6–8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
  • Watch carefully during the last minute since they can brown quickly.
  • Transfer to a wire rack and allow the chips to cool completely before serving or storing.

Notes

  • Whole wheat pita adds extra fiber.
  • Coconut oil works well as a dairy-free substitute.
  • Brown sugar can replace white sugar for richer flavor.
  • Store only after completely cooled to maintain crispness.
  • These homemade cinnamon pita chips make an excellent lunchbox snack.
