Cuisine American
- 2 ripe but firm bananas
- 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Peel the bananas and slice them into rounds about ⅛ inch thick.
In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until evenly mixed.
Place the banana slices into a mixing bowl and drizzle with the melted coconut oil. Toss gently until every slice is lightly coated.
Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the banana slices and carefully toss again to coat both sides.
Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for about 3–5 minutes.
Arrange the coated banana slices in a single layer inside the air fryer basket without overlapping.
Cook the Air Fryer Cinnamon Banana Chips for 15–18 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through cooking for even crispness.
Check the chips during the last few minutes, as cooking time may vary depending on the air fryer model and banana thickness.
Remove the banana chips and place them on a wire rack to cool completely. They will become crispier as they cool.
Serve immediately or store for later.
- These banana chips are delicious on their own but also make a wonderful topping for oatmeal, yogurt, smoothie bowls, pancakes, waffles, or ice cream.
- If you'd like a richer flavor, substitute coconut oil with melted butter.
- For a naturally sweet version, replace the granulated sugar with coconut sugar.
- Store only after the chips have cooled completely to preserve their crisp texture.
