Ingredients

The Spice Blend

  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¾ teaspoon fine salt
  • 1½ teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

The Chicken

  • 2 teaspoons avocado oil
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts

Instructions

  • Slice the Chicken
  • Cut each chicken breast horizontally into thin, even fillets. Thin pieces cook faster, stay juicier, and develop more flavorful seasoning on every bite.
  • Pat dry with paper towels if there's excess moisture.
  • Mix the Seasoning
  • Combine the paprika, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, brown sugar, and cornstarch in a small bowl until evenly mixed.
  • Season the Chicken
  • Place the chicken into a large bowl.
  • Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over the chicken.
  • Add the avocado oil and toss thoroughly until every piece is completely coated.
  • For extra flavor, let the chicken rest for 10–15 minutes if time allows.
  • Air Fry
  • Preheat the air fryer to 415°F (213°C).
  • Arrange the chicken in a single layer with space between each piece.
  • Cook the Air Fryer Chicken Breast for:
  • 10 minutes for thin pieces
  • 12–13 minutes for slightly thicker pieces
  • The chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Rest and Serve
  • Allow the chicken to rest for 3–5 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve immediately with vegetables, rice, potatoes, salads, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Replace avocado oil with olive oil if preferred.
  • Brown sugar helps caramelize the seasoning without making the chicken sweet.
  • Cornstarch creates a delicate crispy coating.
  • Pair with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, steamed rice, quinoa, or pasta.
  • Delicious with honey mustard, ranch, garlic yogurt sauce, or spicy gochujang dipping sauce.
