Ingredients

For the Shrimp

  • ½ pound jumbo shrimp peeled and deveined
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup plain panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • Cooking spray
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives

Brown Sugar Buffalo Sauce

  • ½ cup Frank's RedHot Buffalo Wings Sauce
  • ¼ cup dark brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Leave the tails on if preferred.
  • In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Place the panko breadcrumbs in a second shallow bowl.
  • In a third bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
  • Coat each shrimp in the flour mixture.
  • Dip the shrimp into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off.
  • Press each shrimp firmly into the panko breadcrumbs until evenly coated.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 2 minutes.
  • Spray both sides of the breaded shrimp generously with cooking spray.
  • Arrange the shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  • Cook for 7 minutes until crispy and golden. No flipping is necessary.
  • While the shrimp cook, whisk together the buffalo wing sauce, brown sugar, and garlic powder in a large mixing bowl.
  • Immediately transfer the hot shrimp to the sauce and toss until fully coated.
  • Garnish with chopped fresh chives and serve your Air Fryer Buffalo Shrimp with Brown Sugar with ranch or blue cheese dressing.

Notes

  • Large or extra-large shrimp also work well; simply adjust the cooking time if needed.
  • For a lighter version, reduce the brown sugar slightly.
  • Pair with celery sticks, carrot sticks, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
  • Leftover shrimp can be chopped and added to tacos, wraps, or salads.
