Ingredients

  • ounces frozen berries or frozen fruit about 2¼ cups
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 large egg white
  • Fresh berries for serving (optional)
  • Whipped cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • Add the frozen berries or fruit to a food processor.
  • Process for about 1 minute until a rough puree forms.
  • Add the sugar and pulse briefly to combine.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness if desired.
  • Add the egg white to the fruit mixture.
  • Process for 2 to 3 minutes until the mixture becomes smooth, pale, and fluffy.
  • The mousse should double or triple in volume.
  • If the mixture sticks to the sides of the processor and does not whip properly, transfer it to a medium bowl.
  • Using a hand mixer fitted with whisk attachments, beat until light and airy.
  • Spoon the 5 Minute Fruit Mousse into serving glasses.
  • Garnish with fresh berries and whipped cream if desired.
  • Serve immediately or chill briefly before serving.

Notes

  • Mixed berries create the most vibrant color and flavor.
  • Mango and peach versions offer a tropical twist.
  • Layer the mousse with yogurt or whipped cream for a parfait-style dessert.
  • Serve with shortbread cookies or fresh fruit for an elegant finish.
